The Boo-Man - Children's Books

Welcome to The Boo-Man offical web site...

The Boo-Man children book is writen with young children in mind.
Author PJ Eisenach explains;

This book, entitled 'The Boo-Man' is written with younger children in mind, and falls under the category of Children's Books.
Specifically, written with pre-school and kindergarten-aged children in mind, it is meant to help children resolve a common fear many have at
bedtime and with problems sleeping. "Sometimes there's a logical explanation", you might say.

It should be considered educational, as well, as it helps build their vocabulary and my test at the end of the book is fun;
while the word games deal with verbal and vocabulary skills.

The Author, Paula Eisenach, is the mother of two young men. No longer at the age level this book is intended for, they both learned to read
English (before German, which is their other spoken language). By reading to them at night after a long day, and asking questions, using some
of the skills/methods at the end of the book, they learned pronunciation, built their vocabulary verbal skills and memory retention.
By reading often and playing word games, they both learned to read earlier than is usual, and are STILL avid readers today.
Paula lives in southwest Florida, where the Gulf winds flow.

The Illustrator, Kelsey Younger, was a young, high school student at the time, and still is a very gifted illustrator. Paula believes in the power of
youth; their foresight, imagination and creativity. Her wish is that they never lose it.

Buy this book and enter the contest on this site. This contest is a memory game and builds reading comprehension skills, as well.
They will receive a cute little prize for doing so. Children love to learn AND win prizes!

PJ Eisenach

As a mother of two, both of my children had fears growing up; some of them rational; others not. One in particular might have been a 'bad man' or the 'boogey man', which made it difficult at times to get them to sleep. I learned that this is common with many small children. Therefore, I had the idea for this book.

By reading various stories to both at bedtime; I helped them resolve many of these issues, while stimulating their curiosity to learn more. By reading to them often, asking questions about what they had read and playing memory and word games, they learned to read, spell, build their vocabulary, comprehend what they had been read, and how to correctly pronounce written words; all at any early age, as my mother had done with me.

Children really do love to learn.

By reading this book, my hope is that children grow up being able to distinguish between rational and irrational fears, and learn that sometimes there is rational explanation for many things. In addition to building their vocabulary skills through my 'Tests', I also hope, in this story, to encourage them to believe in the 'good' of people and realize that not everyone they meet is 'bad'. I hear this so often and it makes me sad ("Don't talk to strangers!") Compassion and empathy for our fellow kind is what our children are growing up without. Not everyone is evil. For every 'bad' person, there at least 1000 more warm, funny and compassionate ones who can help our children grow up to be 'good'.
